About
Me
Software engineer specialising in full stack development and systems engineering, with a growing focus on computer vision and deep learning. Currently a postgraduate Computer Science student at the University of Auckland. Current research includes fine-tuning and evaluating a locally-run vision-language model; before that, a TensorFlow/Keras image classifier for a South Carolina state government project, benchmarked against commercial vision services. Interests run across machine learning, systems, and software engineering.
Recently worked as a Systems Engineer with the South Carolina Department of Administration. Comfortable working independently on all manner of software development projects, with experience working in a small team, and running internships.
Leads from the front while maintaining that a rising tide lifts all boats: the goal is an environment where talent is directed at interesting, challenging and valuable problems, hard work is rewarded, and progress is steady. Attention to detail and an eye for audit points and vulnerabilities, to maximize the quality and security of whatever the team ships.
